CHINA

My New Home

By now most of you reading this know about our moving to China. (Our, as in Holly and me). My son Eric was here but didn't want to stay. So you can see our trip to take him to the airport to return back to the states on our Shanghai page. Thus far we have been uploading LOTS of pictures but haven't had time to put up any kind of page with info about any of them. WELL, Here is a start any way. An opening page to our new life in China, and links to here from our main home page. I will go ahead and upload this for now and continue updates as I have time. I will put links here to the folders of pictures, then pages as I can.

As with any life it would not be complete (and enjoyable) without friends. I must say our best friend we have found here has been Pan Qi. She has helped us in more ways then we can ever find ways to thank her for.

This is Pan Qi and her husband Yan Xun (who was VERY nice putting up with Holly bugging him with messages all the time we were on the train during our trip to Beijing, AND Shanghai).

;+)

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Beijing. It was a BLAST. We met Pan Qi's friend from school, Miss Chang. A VERY sweet, VERY helpful lady who THANKfully knows Beijing well and was able to show us around.

Here are a few shots from when we went to Qufu to see

Confucius's birthplace.

Here are a few folders of pictures from around our home town here of

Feng Xian.

Here are a couple pictures of the kungfu class Holly and Eric had been taking.

Each year the Chinese students leaving high school must take an exam to see if they qualify to get into college. A few stayed here at this hotel for a couple days while they went to a nearby school to do the exam. Here are a couple pictures Holly took.

Peter was a student/teacher from Australia here for awhile. His birthday landed on a Friday when he was here so they put on a party for him. Here are a few pictures of it.

Here are a couple shots of the view from the hotel in Shanghai we stayed at when we first arrived in China.

Holly and I went to the coast for the weekend with "Zhao Zhongmin" (otherwise known as "Coops"). Here is a page with a little info about the trip.

UPDATE: as of August 5, 2003

Holly and I was invited to a birthday party Sunday night for Sharon being put on by her students. Here are some pictures.

UPDATE: as of August 13, 2003

Kell's birthday party. Here are some pictures.

UPDATE: as of August 22, 2003. We left Feng Xian on the 22nd. A few days before Holly and I left Feng Xian our good friend Xiao Zhang left for the university in Nan Jing. Here's a couple pictures of us saying good-bye.

UPDATE: as stated last time, we left Feng Xian and are in Xuzhou now, have been here teaching English at the "Jin Shan Qiao Education Group" since September 1st. I haven't had the time to do a lot of work on a page about our experience in Xuzhou yet, but we have taken a lot of pictures. So if you would like to have a look, click here

UPDATE: June 9th I think it was. Hmm, I guess I should be mentioning this is 2004, we left Lian Yun Gang and moved completely back to Xu Zhou. There are some pictures, not a lot of story yet here as to what's been going on since then.

UPDATE: February 28th, 2006. WOW hu, yes it's been a LONG time since an update. After going back to the states in July of 2004, Holly stayed, I came back in August 2004, been here ever since. I think I shall try to start working on a little bit of updates, since it seems my site has been visible here in China for a few days. So, maybe it will stay. It's just not as much fun to do things on it when it isn't visible to us here. I have been studying here at "Xu Zhou Normal University", trying to learn Chinese. But, no, it isn't going very fast. EXTREMELY Slow actually.

Well, that's all for now. Check back regularly for updates. Remember, drop me a message any time, thanks, Ed.
